This is a Guide to the Galleries of Reptiles and fishes in the Department of Zoology of the British Museum (natural History). Mounted specimens of Reptiles and Fishes are exhibited in the two parallel galleries of the ground floor approached from the Bird Gallery. The Reptile Gallery has specimens of Crocodiles and Alligators, Lizards, Snakes and Tortoise and Turties. The fish Gallery contains specimens of Frogs and Newts apart from the numerous specimens of Freshwater and Marine fishes. The guide gives general account of the specimens exhibited with the help of very fine illustrations. The volume should be of great interest to the students and researchers in zoology and fisheries.
M.H. Qureshi (Ph. D. in Geography, University of Jodhpur) has been associated with the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University since 1975. After a two-year stint as Associate Professor at the Addis Ababa University between 1981-83, he returned to the CRD, where he is currently Associate Professor. His particular area of interest lies in the fields of agricultural geography and rural development and he has published several articles in this area.
